Connells Group supports National Apprenticeship Week 2019

As one of the UK’s largest and most successful estate agencies employing over 7,000 staff, Connells Group is proud to be supporting National Apprenticeship Week (4th – 8th March 2019).

Connells Group will take an active role in this annual initiative, raising the profile of its apprentices and celebrating both the important role they play in the business, as well as its successful Apprenticeship Scheme which equips people of all ages with the skills that they need to prosper in the property industry.

Since its launch in January 2013, the Connells Group Apprenticeship Scheme has given 250 young people aged 16 to 23 years the opportunity to ‘earn while they learn’ and develop vital skills across a multitude of professional disciplines including residential sales, lettings, mortgage services, business administration, customer service, HR, payroll, recruitment and survey & valuation.

This year, the Group has also launched a new head office apprenticeship programme whereby nearly 100 existing members of staff have enrolled in either leadership and management development or customer service courses.

Ian Dobrin, Connells Group Recruitment Director says:  “National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity for us to recognise the positive impact that apprenticeships have on employees, new and existing, as well as the wider business. Our Apprenticeship Scheme has been a great success for young people wanting to kick-start their career in the industry, current employees wanting to progress or fine-tune their existing skills, and for us as an employer.  The development of our people and the training we provide has always been extremely important to us, and we ensure that all our apprentices are given all the coaching and training they need to be the future of the business.”

Connells Group’s initial Apprenticeship Scheme which caters to learners aged 16 to 23 years has proven to be extremely successful with 75% of apprentices achieving their qualifications and continuing into full-time roles within the business, resulting in an above average completion rate of 70%. Of these learners, 60% were promoted early and given full-time roles just six months into the scheme.
