Connells Group announces record new homes sales

Continued growth for New Homes business

Connells Group announces another sterling year of activity for its New Homes division.  The Group, which includes Connells and Sequence along with a number of other well-known brands, recorded over 9,000 new homes sales in 2017, a figure which represents a 15 per cent increase in its new homes business compared to the previous year.  It also recorded a 22 per cent rise in new homes instructions compared to the same period in 2016.  The result sees Connells Group retain its position as the largest agency for new homes sales in the UK.

The upswing in Connells Group's new homes sales can be attributed to the company's continued prowess in the new homes market, its strong relationships with most of the UK’s major national house builders, as well as numerous regional and local house builders, and a wealth of new homes business wins in 2017.

Connells Group achieved a diverse range of instructions last year including: the first UK project from Swedish builders Trivselhus bringing 56 low energy homes to Milton Keynes; a unique development, The Ordnance Yard in Gosport, with homes set within Grade II original ‘blast walls’ at the former Royal Navy’s armaments production site; high-end Hammersmith townhouses at the Merchant Terrace development; 175 new homes coming soon at the former RAF Stanbridge base and a number of permitted development sites such as Elvian House in Slough.  Connells Group also continues to act for a number of house builders in the regeneration of Birmingham City Centre.

Stephen Shipperley, Connells Group Chairman says: “Despite a difficult housing market, our new homes business continues to expand and perform well.  Our expertise and reputation, coupled with our national estate agency network, helped us sell a record number of new homes last year.”

Connells Group’s team of new homes experts work in synergy with the Group's dedicated Land & Planning division whose land and investment deals achieved in 2017 add a further 2,750 units to the Group's pipeline – which, at the beginning of this year, was 31 per cent higher than it was on 1st January 2017.  The division is also supported by an award winning estate agency network including almost 600 local offices with expertise in selling new homes in their local markets:

“We know from our estate agency branches that there is a marked increase in the number of people registering an interest to move home this year and a continued demand for new homes,” continues Stephen.  “We are, therefore, optimistic for another strong year in close collaboration with our house builder partners, and look forward to ensuring they make the most of the market and benefit from the added value that we bring.”
