Steve Quinney, Managing Director at Sharman Quinney announces retirement
Sharman Quinney today announces that Managing Director, Steve Quinney, is retiring and will step down from his role at the end of March.
Quinney’s decision to retire will bring to a close a remarkable career of over 26 years at the helm of Sharman Quinney, a career which has seen the company grow into one of the UK’s most successful estate agency businesses with a branch network across Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire.
Quinney formed Sharman Quinney with joint Managing Director Mike Sharman in 1989 with the opening of its first branch in Peterborough and the concept of providing a modern professional estate agency service dedicated to great service and results. Under Quinney’s tenure, the business has gone from strength to strength and now totals a 20 strong branch network. A partnership with leading estate agency and property services group, the Connells Group, was formed in 2003 enabling Sharman Quinney to grow even further. Highlights for Sharman Quinney include winning ‘Best Medium Estate Agency’ at the National Estate Agency Awards in 2011, launching high end property brand Hurfords and the acquisition of estate agencies Pattison Lane in 2006 and Gilbert & Thomas in 2015. Sharman Quinney recently celebrated its best ever annual profit result in 2015 and has further ambitions to grow and open further residential and lettings offices in the future.
“The time feels right for me to retire when the business has recently celebrated great results, is in great shape and is set to continue to have a bright future,” says Steve Quinney. “Sharman Quinney is an authentic and inspiring success story, one that I’m incredibly proud to have been part of and I am so proud of what Mike and I have achieved together. Our business has enjoyed more than its fair share of success, delivered outstanding results, adapted to change, produced many great people and helped develop many successful careers. Thank you to all those people that have helped build our successful business and to those who will take the business forward to even greater success in the years ahead.”
“On behalf of everyone at Sharman Quinney, I would like to thank Steve for his outstanding contribution and dedication to the company and his many years of great leadership,” says Mike Sharman. “Steve’s leaving marks the end of an era for Sharman Quinney and we are indebted to his vision and commitment for propelling us to our present position in the industry. We all wish Steve the very best and a long, healthy and happy retirement.”
With Quinney’s retirement, Mike Sharman, will be taking direct responsibility of the company remaining in his role as Managing Director for Sharman Quinney.
